IPP 2011 Review and Looking Into 2012

The Board of Directors is very pleased to have each of you as members of the Indonesian Parrot Project Team …and we wish you all the happiest and healthiest of New Years.

Of course, all of us wish the same for all the parrots of the world! We think that 2012 is already shaping up as a very exci’ng year for us, and we hope that you will share in our sense about how productive we feel it will be.

First, we are excited to welcome two new Members to our Board of Directors: Ms. Emily Heenan and Mr. Rich Thorpe. Both are intensely concerned about the status of parrots in the wild and bring important skills and contributions to IPP.

We will shortly have their bios on our website. So-check them out!

This year we will focus on attempts to provide a multi-faceted plan to conserve all 4 subspecies of Cacatua sulphurea [Lesser Sulphur-crested cockatoos]. This is a very ambitious plan, yes … but we will collaborate with the World Parrot Trust on this. This exciting and first time interaction will provide new skills to each side of the collaboration, which is described briefly below.
